JESUS
DOCTOR: (ENTERS ALONG WITH NURSE) Miss Williams, is the next patient ready?
NURSE: (HANDING THE DOCTOR THE FILE FOLDER) Yes, Doctor, I'll bring him right in. Here are his records.
DOCTOR: Ah, yes. I remember this one. Remarkable. Quite extraordinary.
NURSE: He's in bad shape today.
DOCTOR: Well, let's see what's wrong.
NURSE: (EXITING) I'll bring him right in.
DOCTOR: Amazing patient. I always enjoy talking to him. (NURSE ENTERS WITH JESUS IN WHEELCHAIR) What in the world happened to you?
JESUS: It's my body. I been having a lot of trouble with it.
DOCTOR: I can see that. You used to be in such good shape -- perfect condition. You had a powerful body once.
JESUS: Yes, I did once.
DOCTOR: You had good coordination. What happened to your eyes? (NURSE STICKS THERMOMETER IN JESUS' MOUTH)
JESUS: My eyes? Oh, the glasses. I can't stand bright lights any more.
DOCTOR: Let's take a look. (TAKES JESUS' GLASSES OFF) Now, look up. Down. Left. Right. When did you first start to have problems with your eyes?
JESUS: My eyes seem to do what they want to do.
DOCTOR: Can't you control your eyes?
JESUS: No, I can't. I have things I want to read, things to look at, but my eyes don't seem to follow the commands that my head is sending them.
DOCTOR: This is very strange. What do your eyes look at?
JESUS: Pornography. All types of horrible things.
DOCTOR: And you can't stop it?
JESUS: I can't seem to. But it's not just my eyes.
DOCTOR: Other parts of your body are affected?
JESUS: It seems that my entire body is affected. My feet go where I don't want them to go. My hands are often doing harmful things.
DOCTOR: And you can't get the different parts of your body to work together?
JESUS: You know, it's strange. Sometimes I can and sometimes I can't.
DOCTOR: But most of the time they are not working together. Is that correct?
JESUS: Right. They do work together but it's usually something I don't want them to do.
DOCTOR: It seems like your hands and feet have a mind of their own.
JESUS: It does seem that way, doesn't it? Is there anything you can do?
DOCTOR: I don't know if I can help you or not.
JESUS: You can't give me any hope?
DOCTOR: Well, no, I can't. We could try some medicine.
JESUS: You seem hesitant.
DOCTOR: I'm not sure it will work.
JESUS: What do I do?
DOCTOR: Well, I don't know exactly. There's probably no hope.
JESUS: None?
DOCTOR: Unless ...
JESUS: Yes?
DOCTOR: Do you pray?
JESUS: In my condition that's about all I can do. Yes, I pray a lot.
DOCTOR: It might do some good.
JESUS: Well, I'm certainly no good as I am.
DOCTOR: True.
JESUS: Well, that's it, then -- prayer.
DOCTOR: Yes. That's it. (NURSE ENTERS)
JESUS: Well, that's what I'll do then.
DOCTOR: Try to keep going.
JESUS: I'll try. (NURSE WHEELS JESUS OUT)
DOCTOR: (LOOKING AT FILE) I certainly hope his condition improves. Nice guy. A name you don't hear too often anymore -- Jesus. (EXITS)
