Easter 7
Poems
A GOSPEL TREASURY
Poems Based on Lectionary Gospels
Jesus prayed for us, my brothers,
asked that we might all be one.
Jesus prayed for us, my sisters,
May his holy will be done.
May we learn to love each other
as he prayed that we might do.
Let us strive to work together
our commitment to renew.
Let us learn to pray together
that his will may come to pass.
Let us pray for one another,
that in love we might surpass.
Jesus asked for these things for us
so that we might know his joy
in our hearts in all its fullness,
that no evil could destroy.
So, my brothers and my sisters,
let us all who know his prayer
ask the Lord to work within us,
all his love and work to share.
Let us ask the Lord to use us
as we go forth in his name,
reaching out to one another
and, for him his world to claim.
asked that we might all be one.
Jesus prayed for us, my sisters,
May his holy will be done.
May we learn to love each other
as he prayed that we might do.
Let us strive to work together
our commitment to renew.
Let us learn to pray together
that his will may come to pass.
Let us pray for one another,
that in love we might surpass.
Jesus asked for these things for us
so that we might know his joy
in our hearts in all its fullness,
that no evil could destroy.
So, my brothers and my sisters,
let us all who know his prayer
ask the Lord to work within us,
all his love and work to share.
Let us ask the Lord to use us
as we go forth in his name,
reaching out to one another
and, for him his world to claim.
