Series VI, Cycle C
Theme: Celebrate The Lord's Victory
Call To Worship
Leader: The stone which the builders rejected as worthless turned out to be the most important of all.
People: This was done by the Lord; what a wonderful sight it is!
Leader: This is the day of the Lord's victory!
People: Let us be happy; let us celebrate!
Collect
Almighty God, through your only Son you overcame death and opened to us the gates of everlasting life. On this day when we celebrate your victory through our Lord's resurrection, we pray that by the renewing power of your Holy Spirit we may arise from the death of sin to the life of righteousness through the same Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
O Lord, like the Apostle Peter we know that you treat everyone on the same basis, but we confess that we often find it difficult to put this into practice in our daily lives. By your mercy, forgive our past failures, and grant us a deeper understanding of what it means to love our neighbors. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
Offertory Prayer
On this day of resurrection we give you thanks and praise, O Lord. Through Christ's death and resurrection you have given us new hope and new life through the forgiveness of our sins and the promise of eternal life. Use these gifts, we pray, that others may learn of your great love. Amen.
Hymns
"Victory In Jesus"
"Easter People, Raise Your Voices"
"The Strife Is O'er, The Battle Done"

Theme: The Defeat Of Death
Call To Worship
Leader: In fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep.
People: Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?
All: Alleluia! Christ is risen indeed!
Collect
Almighty God, you brought our Lord Jesus from the dead, and through his resurrection you overcame death and gave us the hope of eternal life. Receive our thanksgiving, reveal your presence, and send into our hearts the Spirit of the risen Christ. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
By your death upon the cross and your resurrection from death, O Lord, you have shown us the benefit of the new life you promised. Many times we have rejected your way, Jesus, and followed instead our own path. Forgive us, we pray, and open our minds and hearts that we may be raised from the death of sin to new life in Christ. Amen.
Offertory Prayer
Almighty God, all that we have is a gift from you. We bring you now a portion of our material wealth. Accept these gifts as a sign of our gratitude, and use them to further your rule over all the earth. Amen.
