Gracious, Triumphant God, we will try to extend Easter beyond one holy, family day by reaching toward the promise of your acceptance of us each day. Help us to take you seriously. Guide us as we try to live according to what is right. Amen.

Easter (Resurrection Of Our Lord)
Second Lesson: Colossians 3:1-4
Theme: Risen!
Call To Worship
Leader: Today is Easter.
People: Alleluia!
Leader: Christ is risen.
People: Alleluia! Christ is risen.
Leader: Because he lives, we can face tomorrow.
People: Because he lives, we can meet today.
All: Alleluia! Christ is risen.
Collect
Because Christ lives, O God, we can face tomorrow. We can meet uncertainty without feeling abandoned or deserted. Because Christ lives, everything is different for us. We no longer need to worry about our own death because Christ will be with us. What was once fearfully unknown we can greet with hope. Because Christ lives this Easter day, O God, we also are set free. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Somehow, O God, the miracle and mystery of this day have managed to reach into our lives. Easter was not only a "back then" event but is for today and for tomorrow. Somehow, O God, the truth that you did this all for our sake has begun to penetrate our hearts. Thank you for Easter morning. Amen.
28A Hymns1

"In [Thee][You] Is Gladness" Tune: IN DIR IST FREUDE

Call To Worship
Leader: Christ is risen!
People: Christ is risen, indeed!
Leader: Come, let us sing praise to God.
People: We sing alleluia, for Christ is risen today.
Collect
We see that you are risen, O Christ, that you are with us. We see you in the nurses and aids who still go about caring. We see you in corporation officials who seek to keep greed within limits. We see you in shopkeepers who refuse to cheat. We see that you are risen, O Christ, and sing praise to you. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
All: Like Mary at the tomb, we ask, "Where is he?" Where is he in our breaking relationships? Where is God within the lives of those struggling with chronic conditions? Where is God in houses where family members no longer relate? Where is God among world leaders whose priorities have overlooked people? Where is God in the sixth grade classroom? Among hospital cooks? In the room of a care center resident?
Leader: Forgive us, God, for we know now when we ask where you are, that we look with the wrong eyes. Open our eyes of faith to see you at work in all lives. In Jesus' name. Amen.
