Eighth Sunday After Epiphany
Worship
Lectionary Worship Aids
Series VI, Cycle A
Object:
Theme: Stewards Of God
Call To Worship
Leader: We have come to praise God, who has done wonderful things among us.
People: In Jesus, the Christ, God has shown us love, giving light for our darkness, and strength for all our days.
Leader: Sing praises to God's name.
People: We will bow down before God in prayer, and open our hearts to God's saving word.
Invocation
God of grace and creative power, you have given us minds to seek you and hearts to love you. Enhance our poor powers, we pray, so our spirits may reach to your Spirit; so our hearts may beat with the compassion of your heart; and we may worship you in purity and peace. Amen.
Confession
O Lord, Jesus Christ, you have called us to be your disciples, to be stewards and servants, but we must confess that we have not always acted in ways that are trustworthy. With shame and sorrow for our shortcomings, we ask your forgiveness, and pray that you will grant us a new vision of what we can and should do for the building of your kingdom. Amen.
Offertory Prayer
O Lord, we pray that with your power working through these gifts, miracles will take place: miracles of families being reunited; miracles of young people finding a cause; miracles of addictions being conquered; miracles of lives being changed; through Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen.
Hymns
"Take My Life, And Let It Be"
"Forth In Thy Name, O Lord"
"Heralds Of Christ"
