Call To Worship
Leader: Let us proclaim the glory of the Lord in our praise and worship!
People: And let our lives bear witness to God's salvation in Christ.
Leader: For the Lord is with us always, in good times or in hard times.
People: And wherever we are we can give witness to our loving God.
Leader: Let our voices be lifted in praise and song for God's wonderful love.
All: Blessed be the name of the Lord!
Collect
Most wonderful and loving God, in Your infinite mercy and grace You have remained with us and loved us, even when we have suffered the consequences of our sins. We praise You, O Lord. In Christ we pray. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Lord, when times have not been comfortable for us we have turned away from You or questioned how You could allow hard times to befall us. We have even been so concerned about our own needs that we have failed to see the openings before us to share Your Good News with those who need the peace and hope Your Gospel can bring. Forgive us, Lord. In Christ we pray. Amen.
Hymns
"Jesu, Jesu"
"I Want A Principle Within"
"I Will Sing Of My Redeemer"
Proper 23
Sunday between October 9 and October 15 inclusive
Second Lesson: 2 Timothy 2:8-15
Theme: Unashamed laborers for Christ
Call To Worship
Leader: Let us boldly proclaim the Good News of Christ throughout the world!
People: Wherever we go let our voices give praise to the Lord for our salvation.
Leader: And let us not be ashamed to offer Christ to those who know us well.
People: For we have been made new and our sins and transgressions are forgiven.
Leader: In Christ we have life and we have it beyond all measure or limit.
All: Blessed be the name of the Lord!
Collect
Most loving and merciful Lord, You have given us Your love and the hope of eternity, and You ask in return only that we spread Your Good News. Lord, help us share Your Gospel effectively. In Christ we pray. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Lord, too often in our lives we have allowed the opinions of others to be more important to us than being faithful to You. Somehow, Lord, we allow ourselves to fear the rejection of our "friends" if we try to share Your Gospel more than we fear Your eternal rejection if we do not share Christ. Forgive us, Lord, and help us share Your Gospel boldly. In Christ we pray. Amen.
Hymns
"Bringing In The Sheaves"
"I Have Decided To Follow Jesus"
"In Christ There Is No East Or West"

Sunday between October 9 and October 15 inclusive
Gospel: Luke 17:11-19
Theme: The grateful and the ungrateful
Call To Worship
Leader: Let our hearts sound forth with praise for the mercy of the Lord!
People: In Christ we are forgiven and in Christ we are made righteous.
Leader: Then let us proclaim the good news for all the world to hear!
People: And let us reach out, even to our neighbor, with God's healing love.
Leader: For God sent the Christ, that we should have everlasting hope.
All: Blessed be the name of the Lord!
Collect
O God, Creator of the Universe, in Your mercy and grace You have chosen to touch our lives and bless us. Help us share Your blessings so that others might come to love and serve You. In Christ we pray. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Lord, so many times You have granted our prayers only to see us happily go our way without even a word of thanks. So often when a word of praise for Your mercy and grace in our lives might have led others to know and trust You, we have been silent instead. Forgive us, Lord, and help us to proclaim boldly Your love for all to hear. In Christ we pray. Amen.
Hymns
"Count Your Blessings"
"Jesus, We Just Want To Thank You"
