Call To Worship
Leader: Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul!
People: I will praise the Lord as long as I live. I will sing praises to my God all my life long.
Leader: Happy are those whose hope is in the Lord their God,
People: who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them.
Leader: The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down.
People: He protects the strangers who live in our land; he helps widows and orphans.
All: Let all God's creatures praise his holy name forever.
Collect
O Lord, if we did not have faith in your abiding presence and listen for your guidance we could not face the future. So much happens in our lives: the untimely death of loved ones, the disruption of moving to strange places, changes in our economic status. We could go on and on, Lord, but you know how it is. Through it all we put our trust in you. Help us to live fully in the present moment -- letting the past be the past, and trusting in your presence as we move into the future. Give us the power of hope which will enable us to keep on keeping on. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Merciful Father, we do not come here pretending we are better than other folks. Rather, we gather here because we know that we can never save ourselves. We know that we can be forgiven only by your grace. We are weak in ourselves, and need the power of your Holy Spirit. Therefore, we come seeking your forgiveness and your power. In Jesus'Òname. Amen.
Hymns
"If Thou But Suffer God To Guide Thee"
"God Moves In A Mysterious Way"*

Leader: Let us praise God by being instruments of his will,
People: by reaching out in love to those the world is unwilling to love.
Collect
Heavenly Father, once again we have gathered in your sanctuary to share with you and one another in the spirit of your love. Let your Spirit enfold us, that we may receive new strength and experience an inner peace. Let the assurance of your forgiveness free us from guilt, enabling us to live more fully in accordance with your will and that new life which is ours in Jesus Christ. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Eternal God, we know that we have sinned, and our guilty conscience keeps us from living the full life. Amen.

Collect
Lord, we love you with all our being: heart, soul, mind, and strength. We come to praise you and give thanks for your many blessings. May this time of worship also be a time of renewal as we seek the power of your Spirit to enable us truly to love our neighbors as ourselves. In Jesus'Òname we pray. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Lord, we know that our love for you should show itself in the way we treat our neighbors and all with whom we come in contact, but we confess that our pride and selfishness often get in the way. We have often failed to do what we ought to have done or have done things we knew were unloving. Cleanse our hearts, we pray, with your healing presence and encourage us by your loving presence to give of our best to show forth our love for you by the love we give our neighbors. Amen.
