A Call To Worship
Worship Aids, Lectionary Year B
Call To Worship (based on Isaiah 40:28-31)
Women: Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.
Men: He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint and strengthens the powerless.
All: Even youths will faint and be weary, and the young will fall exhausted.
Right: But those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength.
Left: We shall mount up with wings like eagles.
All: We shall run and not be weary. We shall walk and not be faint.
Unison Invocation
Great and powerful God, it is not always within us to run the course you have set for us as your people and as individuals. The obstacles are great and we grow weary. But with you all things are possible. Renew our strength for the tasks ahead, teach us to run together and not separately the path to salvation, arriving together to your glory. These things we pray in your great name. Amen.
Morning Prayer
We thank you for the privilege of bearing each other's burdens. We praise you for the chance to hear our sorrows and our joys. Encourage our compassion, bless our commitment, hallow our concentration upon the work of your kingdom. Amen.
Offering Prayer
For these gifts, we give you thanks, O Lord, that we have something to share for your work. We give with a glad heart, and a hopeful spirit, trusting that your wisdom will guide us as we allocate these gifts to your ministry. Amen.
Children's Benediction
We shall run and not be weary! We shall walk and not faint.
