Call To Worship
One: Lord, your light is shining to the nations.
All: As the magi came to seek Jesus, so do we come to this light.
Men: You call us to take this light throughout the world.
Women: You call us to share this light, not hoard it.
One: Like the John the Baptist, we point to one greater than ourselves.
All: And we too, Lord, hope someday to hear you say, "You are my child, the Beloved; with you I am well pleased."
Unison Prayer
Lord, the wise still seek you, and we admit we are wise in this -- that we have come to worship this morning, seeking you, praising you, testifying to you. Descend to us, this day, we pray, and fill us with your Spirit. Make us one in you, Lord, and open our hearts to all who you would send to our fellowship, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow. These things we pray in your name. Amen.
Morning Prayer (based on Psalm 29)
The voice of the LORD flashes forth flames of fire.
The voice of the LORD shakes the wilderness; the LORD shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.
The voice of the LORD causes the oaks to whirl, and strips the forest bare; and in his temple all say, "Glory!"
The LORD sits enthroned over the flood; the LORD sits enthroned as king forever.
May the LORD give strength to his people! May the LORD bless his people with peace!
Offering Prayer
Today we call to mind the goodness of your gifts to us, your constant offering of sun and shade, stability and change, time and season. Our gifts do not match yours as our love for you cannot match your love for us. Nevertheless we come boldly forward offering you what we have, and pray that you will magnify these gifts in their work in the world. All praise and glory to you. Amen.
Children's Benediction
You are God's beloved. In you God is well pleased!
