Lectionary Worship Aids
Series VII, Cycle C
Object:
Second Lesson: Revelation 7:9-17
Theme: Two Ways Of Looking
Call To Worship (based on Revelation 7:9-10)
One: Salvation belongs to our God who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb!
All: Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God for ever and ever! Amen.
Collect
Lamb of God, shepherd us past the temptations of this world so that we too may stand before the throne to give you praise and honor forever and ever. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
What a joyful sound we have heard this morning, when our people rise to share their happiness. What sorrow we share, when our concerns are shared. Lord, you have numbered every hair on our head. No sparrow falls unnoticed. We count upon your mercy, and your swift answer to our prayers. We are thankful as well that you expect us to respond to the distress of your children. These things we pray in your glorious name, calling to mind always the words which we were taught by your Son, and our Savior, saying in one voice: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
Hymns
Jesus Christ, God's Only Son (see page 278 in the printed book version)
Hosanna, Loud Hosanna
