Call To Worship (Psalm 105:1-4)
One: O give thanks to the Lord, call on his name, make known his deeds among the peoples.
All: Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wonderful works.
One: Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.
All: Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually.
Collect
Glorious God of all our days, shine your light and lead us in your path both during our worship this morning and as we leave your sanctuary to be your emissaries to your world. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Precious Lord, our path as individuals and as your faithful people takes us to the heights and the depths. If we are quick to celebrate your presence when all is well, we seem in our silence to suggest you are absent during times of woe. Help us as we contemplate the depths of despair that Joseph experienced to recall that no matter where our journey takes us, you are already there, waiting for us. We thank you and praise you. Amen.
Hymns
"Wonderful Grace Of Jesus"
"In Your Sickness, Your Sufferings, Your Trials And Pains"
"Blest Be The Tie That Binds"

Second Lesson: Romans 10:5-15
Theme: Call On The Name Of The Lord
Call To Worship (Psalm 85:8-13)
One: Let me hear what God the Lord will speak, for he will speak peace to his people, to his faithful, to those who turn to him in their hearts.
All: Surely his salvation is at hand for those who fear him, that his glory may dwell in our land.
Women: Steadfast love and faithfulness will meet; righteousness and peace will kiss each other.
Men: Faithfulness will spring up from the ground, and righteousness will look down from the sky.
Younger: The Lord will give what is good, and our land will yield its increase.
Older: Righteousness will go before him, and will make a path for his steps.
Collect
Let us pray: Lord, we yearn for steadfast love and faithfulness, your righteousness and peace which you demonstrate daily in our lives. As we gather together we pray that you will send your Spirit into our midst. Guide us in our worship this morning and in our lives day by day. These things we pray in your name. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Lord, in a world of abundant grace we find emptiness of spirit. Heavenly Father, in your world of abundant resources there is hunger and thirst. Whether we watch the passing of the stars at night, or the birds passing over our heads by day, we glimpse your vision of wholeness and peace for the world, yet it seems as if everywhere there is strife. We confess to you, our God, that we ourselves have failed to be instruments of your peace and plenty. Today as we listen to your Word spoken from the Book of Life we will strive to hear your Word spoken directly by the Spirit into our hearts, so that we may claim your plan of righteousness for all and help in our way to bring it into being in a time of your choosing. As your blessings are multiplied miraculously in our midst, we pray together the words which we were taught by your Son and our Savior, saying in one voice, Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, they will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
Hymns
"Good Night And Good Morning"
"His Name Is Wonderful"
"Majesty"

Call To Worship
Come, all God's people, to this sacred place. Open your ears to God's word and your hearts to God's people. We gather in the name of our God, who is gracious to us in calm and storm.
Collect
Lord, lest our minds stray too much on the beauty of your sanctuary, open our eyes so that we may fully appreciate the gift you have given us in the individuals who share this precious time with us. You are present in us all. Where there is suffering we pray that you will call us as healers. Where there is joy we pray you will call us to praise. Where there is uncertainly we pray you will call upon us to bring your light to dark places. These things we pray in your name. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Lord Jesus, you are our rock, our anchor, the solid foundation of our faith. You have been present with us all the days of our lives. As we look back we see the evidence of your love for us. Yet in the storms of the present, when you call to us, we confess that doubts assail us. As we walk through the storm allow us to feel the touch of your sure and guiding hand. Grant us the confidence of your gospel in our daily lives. Amen.
Hymns
"On Jordan's Stormy Banks"
"When The Storms Of Life Are Raging"
"Precious Lord, Take My Hand"
