Object:
Words Of Assurance
On the night that he was betrayed Jesus said to his disciples: "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me."
Pastoral Prayer
O God, who redeemed us through the mystery of the cross; we bow before you in reverent gratitude for the revelation of your love declared in Jesus Christ. We praise you that he shared our common life and humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. We bless you that he bore our griefs, carried our sorrows, and triumphed over sin and death. We glorify you that through his perfect and sufficient sacrifice on the cross there is pardon for the penitent, power to overcome for the faithful, and transformed life for all who truly turn to him.
Give us grace to yield ourselves in glad surrender to the Lord Jesus. May we share his spirit of obedience to your will, his consecration to the welfare of humanity, and his passion that your kingdom may come and your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. So may Christ dwell in our hearts and reign there as our divine Redeemer. Amen.
Benediction
May our Lord Jesus Christ, who for our sake became obedient unto death, even death on a cross, keep you, now and forever. Amen.
