True Accounts Of Visions, Angels, And Healing Miracles
I pray that, according to the riches of his glory, he may grant that you may be strengthened in your inner being with power through his Spirit, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are being rooted and grounded in love. (vv. 16-17)
My family is very close. We depend on one another and do all that we can for each other. When one is in trouble, we all come running to assist in any way that we can. We learned this kind of love and support from our grandmother, Elsie Burton. She was a hard working woman who loved her family and all people.
My grandmother passed away in 1991, from a heart attack. It was a shock to all who knew her. Mama, as I called her, was the rock. She was the foundation of our family, and when she died, we thought that life was about to end.
One year later, I was working as a telemarketer for Sears and Roebuck. The building was located in a large parking lot, near many garages that housed packing trucks. Our boss constantly reminded us to be careful when we walked through the parking lot, because the trucks drove in and out of the garages at a high rate of speed. She didn't want anyone to get hit.
On this particular day, I had been crying over Mama. I was her oldest grandchild, and she and I had been close -- stuck like glue -- so I really missed her. I had gotten out of my car and was walking toward the telemarketers' building, so lost in my mood that I wasn't paying attention to my surroundings. I approached an open garage door and began to cross in front of it, when I suddenly felt someone grab the back of my shirt and pull me, and I fell back. At that same moment, a big truck came speeding out of the garage, the driver never having seen me.
I turned to thank whoever it was that pulled me back, but there was no one there. My mind told me it could have been my imagination, but my heart knew that someone had pulled me away from danger. Then I saw a button lying on the ground that had popped off my shirt when I was pulled back.
I felt a rush go through me. I was thinking about Mama, and I felt her presence. She was there, protecting me from danger. I thanked God for showing me that even though my grandmother was gone, she was with me in spirit. Since then, I have known that I will never be without my Mama.
God is an awesome God, for he sends angels to protect his children here on earth!
