Call To Worship
Come, God's people, let us gather with firm intent to live not just as believers, but as disciples.
Collect
God who challenges, we praise for strength to answer your call. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession (based on Romans 5:1-5)
Lord, we have brought before you our joys and our concerns, your hellos and our good-byes. Unspoken, yet present, are emotions deeply felt but hard to express, as we take our leave of each other for a time. We are assured that you are with us through all our trials. Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand; and we boast in our hope of sharing the glory of God. Not only that, but we also boast in our sufferings, that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us. So we pray with boldness, knowing you hear us, as we approach the throne of grace with the words we learned from your Son and our Savior, saying in one voice: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
