TEKEL: HOSANNA!
UPHARSIN: HOSANNA!
TEKEL: Isn't it wonderful, watching our Messiah enter Jerusalem?
MENE: Wonderful!
TEKEL: It certainly is.
MENE: Hosanna.
UPHARSIN: Hosanna.
MENE: Hosanna. I love to say, "Hosanna."
TEKEL: Hosanna. Me too.
UPHARSIN: Hosanna. Hosanna. Hosanna. It sounds great, doesn't it? I wonder sometimes what it means.
MENE: Me too.
TEKEL: Does it mean something?
MENE: I suppose so.
UPHARSIN: Why else would we be saying it? "Hosanna."
MENE: Why did you say it?
TEKEL: I said it because you did.
UPHARSIN: I heard you saying it, so I did too. It sounds good.
MENE: It does sound good. "Hosanna."
UPHARSIN: Do we have to know what it means? Can't we just say it without knowing what it means?
TEKEL: I say a lot of things I don't know the meaning of, like "Messiah." I have no idea what "Messiah" means. It sounds great and everyone else is saying it.
MENE: So why shouldn't we? Why bother ourselves with the meaning?
TEKEL: Does it mean something?
UPHARSIN: I thought it was just his name or something -- "Jesus Messiah." They give children such funny names these days.
TEKEL: It's a nice name.
MENE: Yes, I like it. "Messiah."
TEKEL: We certainly don't need to know what it means. All we're required to do is to say it.
UPHARSIN: That's right. Hosanna, Jesus, Messiah!
TEKEL: Hosanna, Jesus, Messiah!
MENE: Hosanna, Jesus, Messiah!
TEKEL: Hosanna, Jesus, Messiah! (TO CONGREGATION) Come on. Say it with us. Come on. It sounds nice.
MENE: Hosanna, Jesus, Messiah!
UPHARSIN: That's right. Hosanna, Jesus, Messiah!
ALL: (THEY EXIT LEADING THE CONGREGATION IN A CHANT) Hosanna, Jesus, Messiah! Hosanna, Jesus, Messiah!
