Pastor: What's that big button you're wearing for, Peter?
Peter: Haven't you heard? We are starting a "Just Say No" club here at the church.
Pastor: "Just Say No" -- what kind of club is that?
Peter: Jesus taught us to say, "No," to the devil. Right?
Pastor: Right -- every time the devil tempted him, Jesus said, "No."
Peter: Well, we kids want to learn to "Just Say No" to drugs and alcohol.
Pastor: That sounds really smart, because if you want to stay healthy and happy you have to remain drug-free.
Peter: I know! If I want to amount to something, I have to have a clear mind. Drugs can ruin your life.
Pastor: Some people say it is hard to say, "No," to your friends.
Peter: Maybe, but it is still harder to get straight once you're on drugs. By the way, you know some people also say you'll end up without any friends if you don't use drugs.
Pastor: With friends like that, you're better off without them. Let me tell you, Peter, I've said, "No," to drugs and alcohol all my life, and I still have lots of friends.
Peter: Well, that's what we want to teach kids in our new club. We're going to show them that they can have lots of fun without drugs and alcohol.
Pastor: How old do you have to be to join your club?
Peter: Boys and girls from kindergarten on up are welcome.
Pastor: And where can parents learn more about it?
Peter: This Wednesday, following the Fellowship Dinner, we are going to show the video with Punkie Brewster that tells all about it.
So, boys and girls, get your parents to bring you Wednesday night and you can join our "Just Say No" club!
