Call To Worship
Leader: Sing praise to the Lord, all his faithful people!
People: We will remember what the Holy One has done, and give him thanks!
Leader: The Lord will take away your sorrow and surround you with joy.
People: So, we will not be silent; we will sing praise to the Lord our God.
Collect
O God, we come seeking new life through your healing power. We come seeking strength and wisdom to obey your will. In this time of worship may we find both your healing power and the strength and wisdom to live as your obedient children. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
God, our Father, we have let life become tarnished and less than beautiful because we have let our emotions govern us rather than letting your Spirit have full control. In this time of worship we ask that we may become more sensitive to your love for us, and that we may accept more fully your forgiveness and guidance. Amen.
Hymns
"Trust And Obey"
"'Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus"
Sixth Sunday After Epiphany
Second Lesson: 1 Corinthians 9:24-27

Call To Worship
Let us come before the Lord our God that we might be better prepared for the race that is set before us. Seek the Lord while he may be found, and call upon him while he is near. Amen.
Collect
Almighty God, we come to give you thanks for your great love shown to us in Jesus Christ. We are determined to run the race of life in a way that will enable us to receive that imperishable prize promised to all who believe. We seek the power of your Spirit to so discipline ourselves that we might be better prepared to run that race. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Heavenly Father, forgive us when we have failed to have the discipline and commitment necessary to run the race of life with the intention of reaching the goal of eternal life. We have existed rather than lived. Now we seek your forgiveness, and the power of your Spirit to turn over a new leaf. We pray in Jesus'Òname. Amen.
Hymns

"Victory In Jesus"

Call To Worship
Come to the Lord, all of you who are burdened and heavy laden. With him you will find peace and newness of life.
Collect
We come to you, O God, with faith that you can help us if you will. Have pity on us, we pray, and restore us to the fellowship of those in our community that we may be renewed by your love given to us through those who surround us. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
We have been guilty, Lord, of losing hope. Our burdens seem heavier day by day, and we have tried to carry them by ourselves. How foolish of us. Now we reach out to you, God, and ask for your help. May we turn our burdens over to you, Lord, and thus receive the strength and power we need to face tomorrow. Amen.
