Series VI, Cycle B
Call To Worship
Leader: O God, answer us when we pray.
People: Be kind to us, and hear our prayers.
Leader: Remember that the Lord has chosen the righteous for his own.
People: He hears us when we call to him.
Collect
Lord, we are often surprised by your goodness and mercy. We see lives transformed, people freed from the bonds of illness that plague their bodies, minds, and souls, and we wonder whose power or godliness made it possible. We gather this morning to hear once again the message that faith in the Risen Christ makes all things new, and that if we repent of our sins, spiritual strength will be ours. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
O God, when we are swayed by the crowd to put our faith in material things we lose sight of our need for that spiritual strength and renewal that comes only from faith in your Son, Jesus Christ. By your Spirit may that faith be ours, directing our every action and leading us into lives of service. Amen.
Hymns
"Hymn Of Promise"
"Precious Lord, Take My Hand"
Third Sunday Of Easter
Second Lesson: 1 John 3:1-7
Theme: Children Of God
Call To Worship
We are created in God's image!
We are the children of God.
If children, then heirs, joint heirs with Christ.
Come, let us give thanks to the Father, and sing praises to his holy name!
Collect
Almighty God, our Father, we your children delight in your love, and stand in awe before the gift of your Son, Jesus Christ, who has freed us from the burdens of our sins. Make us worthy of your faith in us that by the power of your Spirit and our faith in Christ we may show our love for you through acts of love and mercy to those we meet day by day. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Father, we are not worthy to be called your children for we have not always lived in union with Christ. With this prayer of repentance we offer ourselves anew to be your faithful children with the help and power of your Holy Spirit. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Hymns
"Children Of The Heavenly Father"
"O God In Heaven"

Call To Worship
You better believe it --ÒJesus is alive!
Because he lives we shall live also, and we are called to be witnesses to his living presence.
Come, let us worship the living Christ!
Collect
O God, grant that today as we come together to worship and pray, we may be vividly aware of your presence among us. May we sense your power and know deep within our hearts and minds the wonder of grace, peace, and love revealed through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Lord, we are a difficult people to convince of your living, abiding presence. Here in worship, we are keenly aware of your Spirit among us, but when we go back to our daily routine how quickly we forget. Draw us closer to you, O Living Christ, and by the power of your Spirit help us to walk with you every step of life's journey. Amen.
