At the close of World War I, there was a meeting of world leaders to discuss the future. President Woodrow Wilson from the United States of America was there and offered the plan for a "League of Nations," to work together for lasting peace. He was enthusiastic about it.
The French Prime Minister, Clemenceau, sneered at Wilson: "You talk like Jesus Christ!"
Yes, the League of Nations was a great dream then, and it faltered; but time has proved that President Wilson was right. He once said, "I would rather be defeated in a cause which one day will succeed, then be victorious in a cause which one day will be defeated."
