Theme: Know This
Call To Worship
Leader: God says to us, "Know that I am with you and will keep you wherever you go" --
People: In a move to a new town, when beginning a new position, starting high school, the first kindergarten day, daring to do something for the first time.
Leader: God says to us, "Know that I am with you and will keep you wherever you go" --
People: In routine's humdrum, during tough decision-making, in the aftermath of divorce, in the middle of grief, throughout radiation and chemotherapy, at each monitoring of blood glucose, amid utter frustration.
All: In all of life, God says to us, "Know that I am with you and will keep you wherever you go."
Collect
Open our eyes, Sustaining God, that we may see evidence of your presence in all our living. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
We forget, O God, that, as with Jacob, you will not leave us until you have done as you promised. We wish your instructions for us were as clear as those you spoke to the leaders in the Old Testament. Help us trust your presence as we grapple with hard decisions and confront difficult life situations. Help us trust that your wisdom will show itself through our own integrity. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Theme: Adopted Hope
Call To Worship
If we hope for what we do not see, we wait with patience. So be of good courage. Take in stride present suffering. Do not think you must know everything right now. Why, you ask. All who are led by the Spirit of God are God's adopted children. Come, let us be people of hope. Let us rejoice as the family of the living God.
Collect
We relax within, O God, because we know that we who live by the Spirit are yours. We live toward the future with an attitude of hope. Praise be to you, O God, our Creator and our Sustainer. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Holy Parent, open our hearts to feel love and acceptance through your Spirit. Give strength to our hope when courage wilts. Infuse joy into our energy, the joy that we are yours, you whom we call Father/Mother because of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Theme: The Right Time
Call To Worship
In a Chicago community garden that looked like a weed patch, wise youths had interplanted a weed to screen a lucrative crop of garden greens. At the right time, they harvested the weeds and took the sheltered crop to market. Let us consider today the right time for nurture and the right time for harvest.
Collect
We come here, O Wise One, knowing that you readily discern what is weed and what is wheat. We accept that we have little control over the negative dimensions that slip into our lives. Thank you for teaching us that even in the midst of trouble, in your realm the good can prevail. For Christ's sake. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
More important, O God, than immediately culling the troublesome elements is protecting the treasure from accidental harm. Help us to tend the positive, fruitful parts of ourselves, our church, and our community so that we will be ready at harvest time. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
