Call To Worship
Leader: Come, all who believe in the Lord; let us give praise to God Almighty!
People: But we are sinners, each having fallen short of God in our own way.
Leader: But we are called to repentance and in Christ we would be washed clean.
People: In our repentance are we welcome in the house of Almighty God?
Leader: In repentance all are found sinless in the eyes of our loving God.
All: Blessed be the name of the Lord!
Collect
O God, we are so grateful that in Your divine wisdom You made it possible for us to repent and come to You confessing our sins. You understand our need for Your love and we praise You, Lord. In Christ we pray. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
O God, so often we have moved into areas in life we knew were not where You wanted us to go, but we insisted on going our own way anyway, resulting in our way causing us to know the pain of sin. Forgive us, Lord, and please take our bad circumstances and use them in some way for good, that others might know and trust You as a wonderful and loving God. In Christ we pray. Amen.
Hymns
"O God Of Every Nation"
"There's Within My Heart A Melody"
"Open My Eyes, That I May See"
Proper 13

Second Lesson: Ephesians 4:1-6

Call To Worship
Leader: Come, let us serve the Lord with gladness!
People: In Christ we are united as beloved members of the family of God.
Leader: And we are called to serve in larger ways for God than one alone could do.
People: And we are also united with all the saints of history.
Leader: Let us celebrate how nothing across the ages can stop the Church.
All: Blessed be the name of the Lord!
Collect
O God, in Your infinite wisdom You have blessed the Church with the power of Your presence that unites us where nothing else could bring us together. We thank You, Lord, for Your love. In Christ we pray. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
O Lord, so many times when we could have accepted other Christians and worked with them in Your spirit of love and unity, we have instead focused on our differences and divided over points that set a poor example and fell very short of being all that You created the Church to be. Forgive us, Lord, and help us to focus on loving one another as You commanded. In Christ we pray. Amen.
Hymns
"The Church's One Foundation"
"We Are One In the Spirit"
"Beneath The Cross Of Jesus"
Proper 13
Sunday between July 31 and August 6 inclusive
Gospel: John 6:24-35
Theme: Jesus, the bread of life
Call To Worship
Leader: All who wait upon the Lord shall be fed.
People: But the crops may be small and the rivers may run dry.
Leader: Let your eyes see the truth; we do not live by earthly bread alone.
People: Then what will sustain us and keep us from perishing?
Leader: The living Bread given to us through the love of Christ.
All: Blessed be the name of the Lord!
Collect
All-wise and loving God, across the ages You have shown us we do not live by the bread of this earth alone but it is by Your Holy Word that we have real life. Help us to share Your Word, Lord. In Christ we pray. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Lord, so often in the blindness of our hearts we have failed to see Your Love. So many times we have looked past Your grace and mercy and searched instead for problems and faults. We have even missed the blessings You intended for us so that our lives could in turn be Your blessings for others. Forgive us, Lord, and give us vision. In Christ we pray. Amen.
Hymns
"There Shall Be Showers Of Blessing"
"Only Trust Him"
"Alas, And Did My Savior Bleed"
