CALL TO WORSHIP
In the morning come to know God's true love and put your trust in the gracious kindness of the eternal One.
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Unsparing God, pleading Christ, satisfying Spirit, we confess that we spend a lot of time and energy in the pursuit of what does not satisfy for long. We forget your promises and provisions and fall into times of depression and despair. We underestimate the extent of your love and the lavishness of your gifts. Forgive such doubt and ingratitude and bring us to the overwhelming victory that is ours; through Jesus Christ who loved us and loves us still. Amen.
DECLARATION OF GOD'S FORGIVENESS
Hear the Good News. Nothing in all creation can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus. Friends, believe the Good News. In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven.
EXHORTATION
Share the bread of forgiveness and the cup of salvation with others who are hungry and thirsty for God's love.
PRAYER OF THE DAY
Feeder of multitudes, enable us to find the hidden resources in ourselves and our neighbors, to share the spiritual food of your loving words so that the hungry in spirit do not go away searching aimlessly for that which will satisfy to all eternity in the company of Jesus. Amen.
PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING
Unstinting Giver, eternal Gift, embracing Spirit, your love can conquer in all circumstances. You enable us to survive persecution with forgiving spirits. You give us patience to endure hardship. You grant us courage to face peril. Even death is overcome with resurrection. For such invaluable and imperishable gifts we are eternally grateful. Thanks be to you, O God, for your giving without stint. Thanks he to you, O Christ, for your death, resurrection and advocacy. Thanks to you, family Spirit for your unfailing love. Amen.
PRAYER OF DEDICATION
No gifts of ours, divine Giver, can he equated with yours. Multiply our offerings of hand and heart to satisfy the spiritual and physical need of multitudes to the glory of your name. Amen.
PSALM 17:1-7, 15
Hear a just cause, O LORD; attend to my cry;
give ear to my prayer from lips free of deceit.
From you let my vindication come;
let your eyes see the right.
If you try my heart, if you visit me by night,
if you test me, you wilifind no wickedness in me;
my mouth does not transgress.
As for what others do,
by the word of your lips I have avoided the ways of the violent.
My steps have held fast to your paths;
my feet have not slipped.
I call upon you, for you will answer me, O God;
incline your ear to me, hear my words.
Wondrously show your steadfast love,
O savior of those who seek refuge from their adversaries at your right hand.
As for me, I shall behold your face in righteousness;
when I awake I shall he satisfied, beholding your likeness.
