Personal Reflections For Pastors On The Lectionary Readings
John 6:35, 41-51
Do you know people who complain about Jesus? They say things like: "How could he be God and man both? That's impossible! And if he is so good, and all he supposedly made is good, then why is there so much evil in the world?"
Jesus faced complainers all the time, for the things he said did not fit with how they thought. They knew who his family was, so how could he say that he had come down from heaven? That didn't make sense. And how could he be the Bread of Life? That didn't make sense either, so they complained about him.
