CALL TO WORSHIP
Remember the many acts of God's faithful love. Believe the promises of the eternal One and sing praises to God.
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
God of all worlds, God of all weathers, God of all seasons, we confess that we often look and listen for you in the wrong place or with the wrong attitude. We are too easily moved by the many voices of denial rather than by the lonely voices of truth, too readily awed by the catastrophic and not by the quiet growth of the living, too drawn to the fire of enthusiasms, too repelled by the solitary duty you sometimes expect. Forgive the casual way we throw in the towel when the opposition grows too strong. Pardon the pride, the fear offailure and the fear of death that prevent our full loyalty to the covenant you have made with us in Jesus Christ. Amen.
DECLARATION OF GOD'S FORGIVENESS
Hear the Good News! Deliverance is near to those who worship God. Friends, believe the Good News. In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven.
EXHORTATION
Take heart! Christ is with us in the Spirit. Do not be afraid. Go when he calls you. Have faith that he will not let you down.
PRAYER OF THE DAY
Son of God, in the midst of storm and strife, rough going and contrary winds, come to assure us of your power and purpose, that we may be saved to confess your name and he faithful in following you wherever you lead us. Amen.
PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING
God of patriarchs and matriarchs, Messiah to the synagogue, and Christ to the church, Holy Spirit enlightening our consciences, we are grateful for every experience of your presence and your help. We bless you for the history of your people Israel, for the covenant you made with them, for the Psalms and the promises, and the patience you have had with them and with us. We listen for you still, in the company of worshipping people and in the solitude of our lonely prayers, to discern your voice and identify your directions for us to take. We rejoice with apostles and prophets and all faithful people who praise your goodness and follow you in the way of peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
PRAYER OF DEDICATION
From the yields of the harvest and from the fruits of our labors, we bring you, supreme God, these offerings. Receive these signs of our fidelity in response to the measure of prosperity you have permitted us; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
PSALM 105:16, 16-22, 45b
O give thanks to the LORD, call on his name,
make known his deeds among the peoples.
Sing to him, sing praises to him;
tell of all his wonderful works.
Glory in his holy name;
let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice.
Seek the LORD and his strength;
seek his presence continually.
Remember the wonderful works he has done,
his miracles, and the judgments he uttered,
O offspring of his servant Abraham,
children of Jacob, his chosen ones.
When he summoned famine against the land,
and broke every staff of bread,
he had sent a man ahead of them,
Joseph, who was sold as a slave.
His feet were hurt with fetters,
his neck was put in a collar of iron;
until what he had said came to pass,
the word of the LORD kept testing him.
The king sent and released him;
the ruler of the peoples set him free.
He made him lord of his house,
and ruler of all his possessions,
to instruct his officials at his pleasure,
and to teach his elders wisdom.
Praise the LORD!
