Words Of Assurance
Since God has forgiven us, let us in turn forgive both ourselves and each other, for Jesus' sake. Amen.
Pastoral Prayer
O Creator of Wisdom, we offer you our praise and thanksgiving this morning for the treasure of knowledge and the gift of understanding. Cause us to seek your wisdom as fine gold, and search for it with enthusiasm as for hidden treasures.
We praise you, O Word of God, for the community that gathers to listen together, to seek your wisdom together. Keep our ears open, however, to those who do not gather with us lest we not hear in full the word you have spoken. Rest upon our hearts that we may be more than hearers of the word, but also doers of your Word in our world.
O Spirit of Truth, we pray especially this day for our efforts as a church to educate our children, our youth, and adults. Be with us in our endeavors, strengthen our prayers, guide our understanding that our efforts may enrich and embolden our discipleship. Lead us into a discipleship that acts as well as learns. Let us not be content with knowledge of you that does not call us to join in your work of mending a broken creation.
Now, as at all times, listen to the cries of our hearts, the longings of your people, and come among us. All this we pray in the name of that great Teacher, even Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Benediction
May God grant you the ability for every task you undertake, the courage for every challenge you meet, and the strength for every cross you carry; and the blessing of God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit be yours. Amen.
