Theme: Do Not Be Discouraged -- The Lord Is With You
Call To Worship
Leader: The Lord is righteous in all he does, merciful in all his acts.
People: He is near to those who call to him, who call to him with sincerity.
Leader: He supplies the needs of those who honor him.
People: He hears their cries and saves them.
Leader: I will always praise the Lord.
People: Let all his creatures praise his holy name.
Collect
Lord, the road ahead seems long and treacherous; the task before us is overwhelming. In our discouragement and despair, we turn to you. Speak to us through your Spirit that we may hear again those comforting and reassuring words: "You are not alone, for lo, I am with you always." Fired by your Spirit, we will again be able to go forth to do your work in the world, knowing we are not alone. Thanks be to you, O God. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
O God, we are so independent and self-righteous. We think we have all the answers and there is no problem we cannot solve with our own wisdom and experience. When things don't go as we planned, we are quick to find excuses and blame others. Forgive us, Lord, and teach us to rely on you, Creator and Sustainer of the universe, for the wisdom and guidance we need. Amen.
Offertory Prayer
Heavenly Father, we do not live as independent, isolated individuals, but as part of your family. We bring our gifts as a sign of our commitment to work together with others under your guidance to help build your kingdom. Amen.

"Abide With Me"
