Lectionary Worship Aids
Series V, Cycle C
Second Lesson: Galatians 3:23-29
Theme: Before Faith Comes
Call To Worship
Leader: Before faith comes, we know the domination of a necessary, but imposed, external law.
People: When faith comes, we enter a new realm where the principles Jesus taught become our guidelines.
Leader: Before faith comes, we see only those things that divide and separate us from each other.
People: When faith comes, we discern what binds humanity together.
All: When faith comes, hope comes.
Collect
Gracious God, we come before you hoping for mutual respect for the uniqueness of neighbors. As people of faith, we want to throw off what estranges us from each other and to embrace what makes us one. Through Christ. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Gracious God, we want to come to you as people of faith. We often toggle between believing and not believing. We forget that faith is a continual venture requiring a discipline that comes from within. Help us remember that once we turn to faith, we can find the strength to be caring, helping, and giving people. Through Christ. Amen.
Hymns
"Incarnate God, Immortal Love" OR "Strong Son Of God" Tune: ROCKINGHAM
"I Will Trust In The Lord" Tune: TRUST IN THE LORD
"As Steadily The Sun Ascends" Tune: OAK CREEK
