Confession And Absolution
Leader:
Let us confess our sins to God in the presence of one another. (Silence for reflection and contrition)
Lord God, our lover and forgiver.
All:
Listen to our failures in love and life. We admire virtues such as caring, community, and concern, but instead we practice anger, jealousy, and hatred. We applaud family, church, and God, but practice selfishness, distrust, and deception.
We desire kindness, forgiveness, and gentleness, but find ourselves in bondage to sin.
Forgive the sins of our fallen state. Wipe away the stain caused by broken promises and restore us to true life in Jesus Christ our Lord.
Leader:
This is how God shows love and forgiveness for us. Jesus came. Jesus lived. Jesus died. Jesus rose again. By him your sins are forgiven.
All:
Amen.

Leader:
Let us pray. Gracious God,
All:
In the abundance of your steadfast love, give to us a vision for Shalom in all of life --athat broken -- we may be healed, alienated -- we may be reconciled, discouraged -- we may know gladness of heart. Bring together husbands and wives, children and parents, families and nations. Bond the human family together by your redemptive love. Empower all to seek justice. Make us stewards of this earth and bearers of good news in Christ our Lord. Amen.
