"A Scout Is ... kind"

GOD IS ALWAYS NEAR
Object Lessons and other Worship Stories for Children
Being kind is considered important in both the Scout Handbook and the Bible.
Objects: a Scout Handbook and a Bible.
Today is Scout Sunday so I want the Scouts who are here to stand up, please. Are you Scouts ever kind? Yes. Thank you. You may be seated.
One of the laws of the Scouts is that they are to be kind. Right here in this special book called the Scout Handbook (page 36) it says, "A Scout is kind."
Another book where we read about being kind is the Bible. Here it says, "Be kind."
Are you ever kind to your friends? What can you do to be kind to your friends? (Let them discuss this.) I tell them "Hi" when I see them; listen to what they want to tell me; tell them something I've been doing; ask them what they've been doing; give them presents.
I hope you always remember to be kind to your friends as often as you can.
