Lectionary Worship Aids
Series VI, Cycle A
Object:
Theme: God's Love And Our Response
Call To Worship
Jesus is the Word made flesh, who came to live among us. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Come, let us worship him. Come, let us praise him!
Invocation
Forbid, O God, that we should forget, amid our earthly comforts, the pains and mortal anguish that our Lord Jesus endured for our salvation. Grant us a true vision of all that he suffered: his betrayal, his lonely agony, his false trial, his mocking and scourging, the torture of the cross; that remembering his suffering and death, we may give ourselves wholly to you; through Jesus Christ our only Lord and Savior. Amen.
Confession
Most Merciful God, who knows the thoughts of our hearts: we confess that we have sinned against you, and done evil in your sight. We have neglected your Word, and transgressed your holy laws. Forgive us, O Lord, and give us grace and power to put away all hurtful things, that, being delivered from the burden of our sins, we may bring forth fruits worthy of repentance, and henceforth may always walk in your holy ways; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Offertory Prayer
Gracious God, we are awed by your goodness to us. Hear us now, as we offer ourselves and our gifts that your will might be done on earth. Amen.
Hymns
"Savior, Like A Shepherd Lead Us"
"Ask Ye What Great Thing I Know"
"He Touched Me"
