Sing Praise To God
Worship
Lectionary Hymns for Cycle B
New Hymns for the Church Year Calendar with Old Familiar Tunes
Object:
1. Sing praise to God, tell of God’s wondrous glory;
Tell of his deeds revered in sacred story.
Tell how his loving leads to deeds of caring,
Grace ever sharing.
2. Great is the Lord, and full of understanding;
In every act of kindness, love commanding.
The troubled are raised up, the wicked grounded,
And praise is sounded.
3. The stars are named and fixed within their courses.
All nature stirs, responsive to God’s forces.
Earth’s creatures find their food, a gift from heaven,
And wrongs forgiven.
4. The steadfast love of God endures forever.
To live in awe of God earns his good pleasure.
Praise to the Lord we give for heaven’s treasure:
Ours in full measure.
5. Praise God and give him thanks for every blessing.
All hope is fixed in God, our needs addressing.
We sing praise to the Lord, our chief endeavour,
Now and forever.
Epiphany 5/Ordinary Time 5
Based on Psalm 147:1-12, 21
May be sung to WOJTKIEWIECZ, 11 11 11.5
