There came one night to a little hotel desk in a busy city, a middle aged couple. The lady was tired and ill. They had hunted all over and had found no place to sleep. When the young hotel manager realized their need, he told the man: "I don't have a room left, but I am sorry about your wife. I am young and would not miss it. Take my room and rest, and everything will be all right."
The next morning the guest asked to see the young manager. In the office he produced his business card and gave it to the young man.
"My name is Astor, John Jacob Astor. I am from New York City. You are the best hotel man I have ever met. If you will allow me to do it, I will build for you the greatest hotel ever erected in the United States."
For years that young fellow, George C. Boldt, was the manager of the great Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City. He had practiced Tender Loving Care.
