Leader: May my words and my thoughts be acceptable to you,
People: O Lord, my refuge and my redeemer.
Collect
O God, we, your servants, are gathered here to worship and give you thanks. Especially do we thank you for your Word handed down to us from generation to generation. Inspire your messenger who will open our understanding of your Word, that we may receive instruction for right living and be fully qualified and equipped to do every good deed. We pray in Jesus' name. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Lord, we, your messengers, know that we should proclaim your message of salvation whether the time is right or not. We know, too, that we are called to rebuke errors and correct faults. We confess, however, that often we have kept silent because we did not think the time was right. We have sugarcoated our witness because we did not want to hurt feelings by pointing out errors and faults. Forgive us, merciful God, and help us to be faithful witnesses regardless of what it may cost us. Amen.
Offertory Prayer
Almighty God, in response to your goodness to us, and particularly for the gift of your Son, Jesus Christ, we bring our tithes and offerings that your work may be carried on through your Church and by each of us individually as we rededicate ourselves to you. Amen.
