Series VII, Cycle C
Object:
Second Lesson: Philippians 4:4-9
Theme: Good Things -- Good God
Call To Worship (Philippians 4:8 and 7)
... beloved, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Collect
Call us once more to rejoicing and thanksgiving for the innumerable blessings you have granted to us. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
For a people called to rejoice, we can be a pretty glum bunch. We bicker, we fight, we tear each other down. God of joy and wonder, touch our hearts, fill us with the joy that is heaven, the rejoicing that is eternal, so that all who enter our doors will see that surely the presence of the Lord is in this place. Amen.
Hymns
We Gather Together
Surely The Presence
Now Thank We All Our God
