Third Sunday Of Easter
Worship
Lectionary Worship Aids
Series VI, Cycle A
Object:
Theme: A Call To Holy Living
Call To Worship
Every Sunday is set aside as a special time to celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Even as we celebrate, let us also be about the business of setting our minds on things that are above and not on things that are on earth. Come, let us worship together.
Invocation
We realize, Lord God, that your presence is always with us. But our everyday activities crowd in on us, and we don't often think about you. We have come here today so we can pray without interruption, so we can meditate without distraction, so we can listen to your Word without interference. Help us to direct our minds and souls, we pray in Jesus' name. Amen.
Confession
Lord, we know that we have been called to love one another deeply from the heart, but we confess that we do not always find this easy. Send your Holy Spirit upon us that we may be born anew through your living and enduring Word. Forgive us for our past weakness and strengthen us to press on toward the goal of our high calling in Christ Jesus. Amen.
Offertory Prayer
O Lord, accept these gifts as signs of our faith, as proof of our concern, as symbols of our devotion, and as expressions of our gratitude. Amen.
Hymns
"Rejoice, Ye Pure In Heart"
"Fairest Lord Jesus"
"Lord, I Want To Be A Christian"
