Mrs. Yocom and I have had the privilege of visiting some missionaries in Peru and Chile in South America.
One of the cities we visited was Valparaiso, Chile, and it is a beautiful city whose name literally means "Vale of Paradise." The harbor on the Pacific Ocean is beautiful and treacherous.
When storms come in from the southern seas, the ships have to move out into the open sea and face reality. What had appeared to us as a safe place could be a place of destruction, as the ship could be wrecked on unseen rocks.
Life is sometimes like that. Rather than be destroyed by the storms of human living, we must face reality, and be led to safety by God's Holy Spirit.
