O send out your light and your truth;
let them lead me;
let them bring me to your holy hill

to God my exceeding joy;
and I will praise you with the harp,
O God, my God.
-- Psalm 43:3-4

3-4 -- Prayer to be restored to public worship at God's dwelling-place (temple).
5 -- "Hope in God; for I shall again praise him."
Notes
• Lament
• See those of the preceding psalm.
For Reflection
• Light and truth are from God -- and for what purpose?
• When "cast down," what is to be our example and action?
• How much do we appreciate and make good use of our privilege of corporate worship? List some of the blessings of the Spirit that come from "going to church."
• The poet, George Herbert, says that when the sermon doesn't strike us, then the Holy Spirit is preaching patience to us!
Prayer
Heavenly Father, let your Spirit shine the light of your word into the hearts and lives of pastors and people, that together we may praise you with a joyful and loving witness to the redemption that is in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
