We go to a concert hall and listen to the sounds of different musical instruments as they tune up for the concert. Clashing of sound comes from the booming bass horn, with the shrill notes of a violin E string; and there is the rumble of drums against the wistful tones of a French horn. They are all going at the same time.
But then the conductor of the Philharmonic arrives. The noise ends when he steps to the podium and calls for attention. He is the master of the moment. He commands, and they act according to his will. Beautiful music comes as the conductor directs them in a fine program. Where once chaos of sound existed, now there is organized music.
On September 2, 1945, at the Japanese surrender to end World War II, aboard the USS Missouri, General Douglas MacArthur spoke prophetically:
If we will not devise some greater and more equitable system, Armageddon will be at our door. The problem basically is theological and involves a spiritual recrudescence (revival) and improvement of human character that will synchronize with our almost matchless advances ... of the past 2,000 years.
When will the time come that humankind will change the chaos of this world to something beautiful by submitting to their Master, Jesus Christ?
