Theme: When God Calls You By Name
Call To Worship
Leader: There are waters in our lives that threaten to rise above our nostrils.
People: There are rivers with torrents trying to sweep us into their course.
Leader: There is fire whose intensity of heat wants to force us back.
All: There is God standing with us, God, in whose sight we are precious, God, who calls us by name and says, "Don't be afraid. I will be with you."
Collect
We lean forward and take notice when you call us by name, O God. You acknowledge that we are. You reassure us, one by one, that we count. No matter what, you will not abandon us. Your love overwhelms our fright and transforms it into courage. So we praise you with our whole hearts, O God. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Dear God, when we are in trouble, first of all we are afraid. When happenings and circumstances threaten to consume us, help us to remember your love that first made us will also sustain us through all things. Amen.

Call To Worship
We are baptized in the name of the one who created us and who continues to re-create us. We are baptized in the name of the one who is our Savior and who persists in saving us. We are baptized in the name of the presence sent to sustain and preserve us for as long as we have being. Come, let us thrive. Let us flourish in the midst of God's blessing because we have accepted the word of a living God.

In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, we believe and we are yours, O God. In your name, O triune God, we find the fullness of our name. We praise your holy name. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
We confess, O God, to pondering if words are mere wondering, wishful thinking, and constructs of needs deep within us. We wonder our "What If" lists. Then we say, "Yes, yes, and yes, so what if." We say, "Yes," to your "Yes" as you name us yours. Amen.

With that base, we gain the strength to move forward each day doing what we need to do and being who you mean for us to be. With that certainty, we have the energy to step over defeat, despair, and doubt. In the name of Christ. Amen.
