Expression: Woe is me!

Years ago during the Golden Age of Radio, there was a comedian by the name of Joe Penner who got his own show on CBS in 1933 after he had became famous on the Rudy Vallee Show. Joe Penner had several trademark sayings such as, "Do you wanna buy a duck?" Another trademark saying of his was, "Woe is me." It is only normal to hear others give out with this expression also when they meet head-on with some kind of trouble.
"Woe" as defined by a dictionary will probably associate the meaning with such words as grief, sorrow, misery, affliction, and trouble.
Mesech and Kedar were remote regions of Asia Minor and northern Arabia. The people of Mesech and Kedar were haters of the Lord and hated peace. The pilgrim in Psalm 120 was for peace, but his voice to the others was unheeded. The pilgrim prayed to the Lord as he exclaimed, "Woe is me."
