God Of Creation...
Intercession
Prayers usually include these concerns and may follow this sequence:
The Church of Christ Creation, human society, the Sovereign and those in authority The local community Those who suffer The communion of saints
These responses may be used:
Lord, in your mercy Hear our prayer Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.
God of creation,
Lead your Church not into temptation. As we gather in your presence, we hold the Church of Myanmar before you. As it chooses its future direction, may it avoid paths which are too safe and too easy. And we hold our own parish(es) within your company, as we continue our own Lent pilgrimages.
God of justice, remember the peoples of India and El Salvador as they continue to clear up after the earthquakes. Remember the peoples of Europe as they fight against foot and mouth disease. Remember all those peoples who are fighting for human rights within their own countries. May they all be aware of your strength and support as they struggle to help bring justice in an unequal world.
God of compassion, lead us not into temptation but give us the strength and nerve to face what we have to face. When we have the choice between safe comfort and scary pain, help us to make the right decision.
God of the future, we bring into your presence those who are sad or anxious, frightened or worried or in pain. Lay your healing, forgiving hands on them all, those we name in our own hearts and ...
God of love, some of our friends have recently experienced death, and for those they have left behind them, it feels like life is over. Give strength and courage to those who are bereaved. Enable them to face the darkness, and reassure them that on the other side of the darkness is your glorious, radiant light. We remember especially the families and friends of ... and all those who remember with sadness at this time of year.
Merciful Father,
Accept these prayers for the sake of your Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.
