A 1998 cartoon in The Wall Street Journal showed a group of executives gathered around a table for a high-powered board meeting. The chairman is on his feet with a sly look on his face, saying, "It worked. We expressed remorse, asked for forgiveness and sales are up 60 percent."
Sadly, some may see "repentance" as a tactic in a profit-driven environment. However, many in Peter's audience on that Pentecost Day when the Holy Spirit came upon the believers, discovered repentance to be a doorway to true forgiveness, inner peace and the blessing of God's Spirit. In that they were responding to a Spirit-filled Peter, we could say they were "prophet-driven" as well.
