Like blind Bartimaeus, Martin Luther King, Jr., was not content simply to sit and be quiet and wait for a better time for healing. In his famous Letter from a Birmingham Jail, King, himself in jail on charges of civil disobedience, takes on eight white clergy who had spoken out at the time for more constraint and order in advocating for social change on the racial landscape.
