Christopher tried to imagine what it would have been like to have lived through the beginning of the first century, to have grown up in Nazareth, perhaps as a neighbor to Jesus, to have become friends, and eventually, after sharing their childhood, to have gone their separate ways. Would he have missed his friend Jesus, he wondered, as much as he missed his twentieth century friends, now scattered across the nation at various colleges and universities?
