"The church which is his [Christ's] body, the fullness of him who fills all in all" (v. 23). Since the work of Christ is not complete without us, Paul urges that the church must embody within itself the completing of that work in and for the world. God needs us. As a church we are co-workers with him: without us Christ lacks the means to fulfill his purpose of love for all humankind.
