The city of Galveston, Texas, sits exposed on Galveston
Island, facing the Gulf of Mexico. Most of the time it's quiet
and peaceful, a serene place to live. Until hurricane season.
Texans tend to think of hurricanes like defenders of the Alamo
thought of Santa Anna's army.
So when the hurricane came, the Galvestonian decided to stay
at home. All the weather reports said this was the worst blow
ever, and winds and floods were coming straight for Galveston.
Take all available evacuation routes. (There is only one.) The
