Dr. Fosdick once told that in one of the European art galleries there stands an old Greek statue of Apollo, a figure of almost perfect physical form. It is interesting, said Fosdick, to stand aside and watch the crowds of casual tourists passing by. Then a man stops and stands awhile before the statue and almost invariably he is seen to begin to straighten up. He reveals an inherent law of human life: we grow like what we live with (2 Corinthians 3:18).
