In election years we generally become acutely aware of the benefit of endorsements. Candidates know that endorsements from people with consistencies are of significant import. Typically, in presidential primaries, the races will begin with many candidates. As the primaries proceed, some candidates will drop out after seeing they will be unable to secure their party's nomination. In the wake of the candidate's withdrawal, conversations usually occur with remaining office seekers to determine which one will enjoy their support.
