A farmer I know lives...
Illustration
A farmer I know lives on a "Centennial Farm," which means that it has been in her family for more than 100 years. Each spring she walks the bounds of her land, as her parents did before her, and their parents before them. Though she would have a right to be proud of her land, handed down as it has been from generation to generation, she does not think that way. "The land is not mine," she says, "God has only loaned it to me to tend for generations yet unborn." She is careful of what she grows, and how she fertilizes and works the land.
