Floyd Nichols of Chicago was diagnosed with a rare form of colon cancer when he was only 19. He underwent surgery, was able to finish college and became a successful computer salesman. In his mid-30s, he sold his company and looked forward to a leisurely retirement. However, he soon found that he had a recurrence of the disease. He immediately began to study everything he could about the disease, rejected the radical surgery which was recommended, and began searching for a cure.
